Winemaking

winemaking

All of our wine is made on site in our urban winery in downtown Napa. Our total annual production is currently under 1,000 cases, all of which is sold directly from the winery.

Our cellar crew consists of two people: Winemaker/Brewmaster Elaine St. Clair and Production Assistant, (President Laina Brown's son) Bren Westerland. Our estate vineyards are located ten minutes from the winery in the Coombsville AVA of the Napa Valley.

Veteran winemaker, Elaine St. Clair has been making wine in the Napa Valley for over 30 years. As a UC Davis graduate, she attended both their Winemaking and Master Brewers programs and holds a degree in Fermentation Science. She is the only woman in the country that holds the commercial title of both Winemaker & Brewmaster.

Elaine's goal has always been to create nuanced wines of balance.

This begins with earlier picking decisions, when ripeness and expression is optimal, but alcohol levels are restrained. It continues with gentle grape processing. A preference for whole-berry fermentation, with temperatures and maceration times low to keep tannins soft and elegant. Finally, the use of primarily older French Oak barrels ensures oak influence is well integrated, complimentary, and never over-bearing.

We believe when all of these aspects are balanced the result is harmony. The wine resonates, and you feel it.

The current portfolio includes Sauvignon Blanc, White Blend, Chardonnay, Muscat, Rosé, Rhône Blend, Merlot, Estate Syrah, Red Blend, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

All our wines are, and always will be, vegan.
